Audio Repair & Restoration for Leeds Businesses

Your audio is salvageable.

Background noise, room echo, electrical hum and inconsistent levels all make otherwise great content sound unprofessional. I'll tell you honestly what's fixable, and fix it properly.

Bad audio is the fastest way to lose a listener

You don't get a second chance at a first impression and audio quality is one of the first things people register.

Over the last 20 years I’ve worked on the good, the bad and the ugly. And the good news is, with the right tools and experience most audio problems can be fixed or significantly improved.

A diagnosis is free, so you don’t need to create a new supplier or check with accounts. Just get in touch and you’ll be speaking directly with me, the expert.

What I fix

Podcast & voice recordings

Noisy rooms, echoey interviews, inconsistent levels between guests, harsh sibilance and boomy plosives. Whether it's a solo show, a remote multi-guest recording, or an internal company podcast, I'll clean it up and deliver it broadcast-ready. I’ll optimise it for Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.

Social media & reels audio

Filmed on a phone, on location, or in a noisy space? Quiet voiceovers, noisy backgrounds and echoey rooms will ruin your brand image. I’ll repair and enhance the audio so your content sounds as polished as it looks. Fast turnaround available for time-sensitive content.

Corporate video narration

Voiceover recorded in-house, on location, or by a remote narrator? I'll clean, level and master it to broadcast standard so it sounds consistent through every scene. Let your video editor do what they do best and have an audio expert prepare you for post-production. I work regularly with design agencies, production companies and in-house marketing teams.

Common problems I deal with

Room echo and reverb

Recorded in a kitchen, office or untreated spare room? It can be tamed significantly.

Background noise

Air conditioning, traffic, keyboard noise, room tone can all be removed cleanly with minimal effect to the voice.

Electrical hum and buzz

50Hz mains hum, ground loops and interference can all push the listener back and make them sound muffled.

Inconsistent levels

One voice too loud, one too quiet. Balanced and levelled across the whole recording.

Plosives and clipping

Harsh P's and B's and distorted peaks can be repaired without losing presence or warmth. Removing them can help make the vocal louder and more present.

Phone and Zoom recordings

Remote interviews and call recordings treated to a consistent, professional standard.

Send me a sample, even 30 seconds is enough. I'll listen, tell you honestly what's wrong and what’s fixable. My normal response time is within 4 hours.

Step 2

We agree on a scope and timescale. There’s no account manager or junior engineer. I handle everything personally and give you a clear quote before any work begins.

Step 3

I repair and deliver you'll receive your files in whatever format you need, ready to publish.

How it works

Step 1

Not sure if your audio is fixable?

Send me a sample and I'll tell you honestly what's possible. Free, no commitment, usually back to you the same day.

Frequently asked questions

How bad does audio have to be before it's not worth fixing?

It depends on the problem. Noise, hum, echo and level issues are almost always fixable to a high standard. Severe clipping — where the recording has actually distorted — is harder, but even then there's usually meaningful improvement to be had. Send the sample and I'll tell you straight.

How long does it take?

A single episode or short video is typically turned around within 24–48 hours. Larger projects I'll agree a timeline upfront. If you're on a tight deadline I can usually accomodate.

Do I need to send the original files?

The higher quality the file, the more I can do. Uncompressed WAV or AIFF gives me the most to work with. MP3s can be improved but there are limits. I'll tell you if the source file is the bottleneck.

Do you work remotely?

Everything for audio repair is handled remotely. You send the files, I return them fixed. I'm based in Leeds but work with clients across the UK and beyond. I do offer site visits though usually for setup, training and field recording services.

Can you help us avoid the problem in future?

Yes. If you want advice on recording better audio in-house I’m happy to help. Microphone choice, room setup, recording chain — I offer consultancy alongside the repair work. One conversation often saves significant time going forward. If you are looking for more significant support I can arrange training workshops for your team and offer retainer programmes for peace of mind.
